When are you reopening?
At the YMCA at ACRC, we will open our doors on Monday, June 15 at 6am. This will be a phased reopening. The initial opening phase marks the first activation of YMCA facilities and is designed to welcome Y Members back to the Y with significant changes to inhibit community spread of COVID-19.
Will Y programs still be offered?
Y programs and facility operations will include significant physical distancing protocols and strict limits on activities and group sizes, consistent with guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and the State of Minnesota. Programming will return in a phased approach. Youth sports and activities will not be in phase one, however we are considering ways to engage families while following MN guidelines. If you have any suggestions to engage families while maintaining social distancing, please do not hesitate to contact Kelsey at email@example.com.
How do I take my membership off hold so that I can sign up for my 60 minute time slot?
You can either call us at 507-433-1804 and we will be happy to assist you or you can fill out this form.
What are you doing to ensure the building is clean and that safety precautions are considered?
Heightened cleaning procedures, limits on program/area capacity/ availability, changes to traffic patterns, spacing of fitness equipment, increased & more sanitizing stations. Y Team Members equipped to train and support Members’ practice of physical distancing protocols.
How will the Y be enforcing social distancing?
There will be signage throughout the facility including six foot distance markers. We will also be marking 10ft radius in all group exercise
classes. Group exercise classes will be moved from their designated studios to the upper gymnasium (or outside) to allow for greater distancing, while still allowing the social connectedness the group exercise classes can offer.
Will virtual classes still be offered?
Yes, we plan to continue virtual classes for those that are unable to come to the facility for any reason. We will also develop a package so that a ‘virtual
class membership’ is available for those interested. More information to come!
Will the lane pool be open? When? What does this look like (every other lane)?
We are anticipating that the lane pool will be open phase one. This will also be on a reservation basis to ensure distancing and safety for our members. More information will be available soon when we receive guidance from the State of Minnesota.
What will you be doing to appreciate members?
We are blessed to be a part of a giving community, and as always we appreciate your support during these unprecedented times. Please know that we appreciated each and every one of our members. Will people be required to wear masks while exercising?
Our team members will all be wearing masks. We encourage member’s to wear masks, however we also understand it can be difficult with heavy breathing during strenuous exercise.
