The YMCA swim team is a developmental swim program run by trained coaches to improve swimmers‘ competitive skills and endurance through progression rather than intense competition. The YMCA swim team promotes healthy lifestyles while embracing the four core values of Caring, Honesty, Respect and Responsibility.

Requirement: Swimmer needs to be able to swim the length of the pool, 25 yards, with no flotation.

New Session coming this Spring

Swimmer is able to swim 1-25 yard of freestyle with face in water majority of the time. Swimmer must be able to do this without flotation. This group would be geared towards swimmers that have passed at least level 3 in swim lessons. 

Swimmer is able to swim 50 yards of freestyle with the face in the water majority of the time. Swimmer must demonstrate basic knowledge of dives or starts. Swimmer must also have the basic fundamentals of backstroke and be able to swim a min of a 25 yards. 

Swimmer should have general understanding of at least breast stroke or butterfly and be able to swim a 50 of freestyle and backstroke. Demonstrate basic knowledge of a flip turn and start. 

Swimmer must be able to swim 3 out of the 4 strokes legally in a distance of at a min 50 yards. Swimmer must demonstrate the ability to take correction and learn from mistakes.
