Unified Special Olympic Swim Team’s Mission Statement:
The mission of Special Olympics is to provide year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes and the community.

Unified Partners compete alongside Special Olympics athletes. Training together and playing together becomes a quick path to friendship and understanding.

My athlete has an intellectual disability or closely related developmental disability. Please fill out this form before the first practice. You must have a doctor sign off on the participant AND click the purple button to register.

If your athlete does not have an intellectual disability or a closely related developmental disability, please register using the blue button.

What is a Unified Partner?
A Unified Partner is a volunteer athlete who helps assist in the water, out of the water, and during competitions to meet the needs of the team. Unified partners are invited to participate in relay events at Regional and State Meets. Unified Partners must be at least 12 years of age OR have the permission of coaches to volunteer and swim with the team. All Unified Partners must be able to swim at a level 4 swim ability, which means they can swim 50 yards Front Crawl, 50 yards Back Crawl, 25 yards Breaststroke, and know the components of Butterfly. Unified Partners are responsible and caring.
