Junior Lifeguarding is designed for youth 11-14 years of age. The course involved a significant amount of physical activity. Participants will build a foundation of knowledge, attitudes, and skills for future lifeguards. They are not required to master or perfectly execute skills. They will learn the techniques and build stamina during this program. They will not receive certification in CPR/AED or First Aid, but they will receive training in these areas.
Course Pre-Requisites:
Swim 25 yards front crawl
Swim 25 yards breaststroke with a pull, breath, kick, glide sequence
Step into the water from the side and totally submerge, maintain a vertical position for one minute while treading or floating, then rotate and return to the exit, swim 25 yards, and then exit with no ladder or stairs.
