Planksgiving

1. The Challenge!

A strong core is key to reducing the risk of injury and improving fitness. In the month of November, your task is to complete a three (3) minute plank.

Have an instructor time your plank, initial the tracking card and return the completed card to the main desk by November 30 to be entered into the prize drawing. You can pick up cards at the front desk or at the Fit Floor desk.


2. The Rules

On the first day, hold the plank for as long as you can while maintaining good form. This will be your benchmark time. Each day, gradually add 10-15 seconds to your plank as you build enough strength to hold a 3  minute plank.


3. The Prize

Participants who complete the challenge will be entered into a drawing to win a free personal training session.


4. Who can Participate?

All Y Members can participate in the Planksgiving Challenge, age 14+.

How to perform a proper plank:

Get into push-up position on the floor with your elbows bent at a 90-degree angle and rest your weight on your forearms. Your palms should be flat on the floor and your elbows should be directly beneath your shoulders. Your body should form a straight line from your head to your feet.
