Open Positions at the YMCA

CHILD WATCH ATTENDANT – PART TIME POSITION
Under the direction and supervision of the Program Coordinator the attendant will be responsible for planning, developing and implementing all program activities in the Child Watch area. The attendant guides the development of children, ensuring a safe, enriching and healthy environment. We are looking for someone to fill this position Monday – Friday 8:45am – 1:30pm, specifically.

GROUP EXERCISE INSTRUCTOR – PART TIME POSITION
Group Exercise instructor at the YMCA at ACRC serves others by intentionally welcoming, connecting, and supporting them. Instructs group classes in a safe, enjoyable, and positive environment that promotes member wellness and engagement. The Group Exercise instructor is responsible for leading Group Exercise classes teaching specific skills affiliated with each particular course design, while considering the health and safety of each class participant.

LEAD SCHOOL AGE COUNSELOR – PART TIME POSITION
The person selected for this position will be under the direct supervision of the Childcare Coordinator. Lead Counselor will provide leadership and guidance to other counselors. Lead staff member is responsible for implementing daily pre-planned schedule, curriculum, and activities. Lead Counselor is responsible for providing a safe and diverse experience to youth which is focused on the YMCA core values: honesty, respect, responsibility, and caring.

LIFEGUARD – PART TIME POSITION
The lifeguard will supervise the aquatic area to prevent accidents, assist swimmers, and keep the area and facilities clean. Creates a safe and positive atmosphere that promotes member safety and engagement in accordance with YMCA policies and procedures. All positions open, applicants MUST be able to work a minimum of 10 hours/week.

MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN – PART TIME POSITION
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for expertise, leadership and resources needed to support maintenance of the YMCA, its operational programs, and support of planned maintenance activities. The position provides leadership and training of the maintenance and housekeeping teams, and facility services vendors oversight and coordination related to maintenance tasks, as required.

SCHOOL AGE COUNSELOR – PART TIME POSITION
The person selected for this position will be under the direct supervision of Childcare Coordinator.  You will be responsible for providing an appropriately safe, caring, and enriching environment for the children enrolled the YMCA school aged programs. Counselors are responsible for conducting themselves in an appropriate manner, setting an example for the children, parents, and Co-workers by reflecting the YMCA core valves of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility. Counselors are responsible for complying with all the YMCA Childcare Policies and Procedures.

SWIM INSTRUCTOR – PART TIME POSITION
Instructs swimming lessons in accordance with YMCA guidelines, having prepared lesson plans accordingly, and supports members and program participants in achieving their goals. Develops and maintains positive relationships with volunteers, members or program participants, and colleagues at all levels of the organization; helps participants and families connect with each other and the YMCA; and encourages parent or caregiver involvement. Instructors must be at least 16 years of age. Must be available Monday through Thursday evenings 4:30pm-6:30pm.

SWIM PROGRAM COORDINATOR – PART TIME POSITION

The Swim Program Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the delivery, administration and evaluation of the swim program and swim lesson operations at the YMCA of Austin. Reporting to the Aquatics/
Operations Director, this position will ensure that all program s are in accordance with YMCA policies,
procedures, and standards. The coordinator may also be involved in various roles throughout the day,
including acting as a swim coach or instructor as needed.

WELLNESS ATTENDANT – PART TIME POSITION

The wellness attendant provides a welcoming environment to members by greeting them and answering questions. Assists members by conducting machine orientations. Ensures the fitness floor is clean and organized as well as sanitizing equipment. Actively supervise the fitness floor to ensure safety of all members according to YMCA policies and procedures.
